GO!MOM Empowers, Inc. is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit rooted in the belief that when single moms rise, families and communities thrive. We equip single mothers with the tools, support, and sisterhood they need to overcome barriers, not only to build brighter futures for themselves, but also to reshape the lives of their families for generations.
What began as one mom’s mission to ensure no woman faces motherhood alone has grown into a movement, creating safe spaces where single moms can learn, grow, and thrive.

Being a part of GO MOM’s has been an amazing experience and opportunity. This program has made available a space where I and many women and moms like myself have a place where we can let our guard down and be vulnerable. During many sessions, I was given emotional support by having someone to vent to about the struggles and challenges of life as a mom, woman, and working individual of society. I was able to share my story and hear the stories and we each shared our experiences and learn from each other. I was able to encourage and be encouraged, empower and be empowered, I was given honest and real feedback and advice and offered the same. Through this program I was get resource and tools to help me financially and personally in my everyday life that I could use and share with others. Go mom’s definitely was and still is a place where I know I can be guided and feel supported. I just have to be open and willing to put in the work. Crystal reminds us constantly that we are not alone and that she is always there to support us or offer us help or a listening ear but we must ask for the help and use the tools that she presents to us. Go mom has helped me thriving by teaching the importance of budgeting and how crucial it is to know where your money going and establish better spending habits. I have learned it important to pay yourself first and you can do this by automating your savings then pay bills. I set a saving goal, I didn’t quite achieve it but I got close I save 2,300 out of 3,000. I always learned about the importance of maintaining good credit and this gave me the push to pay off my credit card and now I do my best to try to keep my credit card balance below 30 % or not keep a balance at all if I can help it. I’m sure there are many other financial tips that were shared that helped but those stood out. Lastly, I have been able to thriving personally with help of Go Mom because I have been able to embrace the concept of cycles and seasons and the importance of creating, setting and maintaining boundaries which ultimately protect me prevent people from violating me. Adria Giles introduced the seasons and cycles topic in our very first session this year and I can’t express how much I needed to hear this message so happy I was in the room. I learned so much and was reminded that I am 100 % for everything in my life and I have to power to break the cycles but I must be honest with myself and I have to be self aware and pay attention. It is important that I identify the patterns of triggers and emotions also what is mine and what is not mind if I truly desire change, improve or fix my life. I have to create a plan and stay committed to it and find someone or something to hold me accountable if I know I require support. I also learned how to recognize the difference of when I’m in a cycle or season and remember that seasons I must embrace and learn the lesson and make adjustments and set boundaries accordingly also. An example of cycle for me is managing my anger and the ability to not self-sabotage. I have learned but I still struggle from time to time I practice the pause and think before I speak when I feel like as though I have been disrespected or boundary has been crossed. I am a work in progress but have come along way. I remember the THINK acronym that stands for True, Helpful, Inspiring, Necessary, and Kind which helps me take control of myself, reminds me to make good decisions, talk less, and listen more when addressing situations where I’ve been triggered. I have to remember I where I am or where have been but also where I wish to be and that’s a Yolanda who has the ability to control of herself and her emotions. If I mess up, I shake it off and I remember to forgive and give myself and just do better next time. All in all Go Mom has benefited me in so many ways and I am so grateful to Crystal and all her speakers for your time and energy and wealth of knowledge and wisdom that you have shared/given these past few weeks/months. I wish to speak for myself and on behalf of other moms we appreciate you pouring into us and creating this program for us moms to not just survive but thrive and keep on thriving to be women and moms we can be for ourselves and families. Before joining GO!MOM, I felt like I was all alone, not because I was on my own, but because I didn’t feel heard, understood, or seen. But the group has shown me that I’m not alone, and there are other moms who are going through similar struggles or have knowledge that I can share to help them out. It’s given me the confidence to talk about some of the issues I’ve been facing with my children’s fathers, which I’ve been afraid to discuss because of fear of judgment. GO!MOM has become a safe space for me that I’ve always wanted and been looking for!

Go MOM Program got me on track! I came to Crystal down and out and was so discouraged in life. I was depressed and suicidal. So when Crystal started this program I felt so supported and got the resources I need. All the women in this group were meant to be and been so positive. This group is great for all mothers that need a little support or a tribe. Crystal sow seeds in us and we blossom in flowers. Thank you Go Mom
